History
Waltron Trailers is continuously evolving as a market
leader in boat trailer manufacturing with a consistent
focus on creativity and innovation, as can be
illustrated by an overview of the firm’s past.
Incorporated in 1975, Waltron Trailers possesses a rich
history in numerous areas related to manufacturing, such
as: tool & die, die repair, fabrication, as well as
trailer and truck box construction.
Perhaps Waltron’s greatest contribution to the
manufacturing industry was with its innovation of a
unique style of an hydraulic disc brake drop axle in
1983, when Waltron began to manufacture boat trailers.
This ingenious idea was Waltron’s ticket to success as
when demand arose for the axles, Waltron was able to
turn the sale of an axle into the sale of their first
trailer. Since then the drop axle has proven to be a
fantastic piece of equipment, which is used in all of
our world-class trailers, leading Waltron to become
synonymous with excellence in boat trailers.
Timeline of Waltron’s Innovations

1985: Waltron designs a bigger version of their already
successful trailers, using both a larger hydraulic disc
brake drop axle as well as larger tires.

1990-91: Waltron accommodates the growing needs of a
changing market by introducing a trailer, which is lower
to the ground as boat size increased.

1992: Creativity abounds as Waltron, in co-operation
with loyal customers, builds a “stinger steered
trailer”, which was a result of a concept adapted from
the automotive industry.

1996-97: Waltron designed the removable gooseneck
trailer, which allows the gooseneck to detach from the
trailer. This feature gives boat haulers the ability to
diversify their services and offer back hauling of
equipment and other large objects. In the same year,
Waltron created a trombone “stretch” trailer, which
extends from 53 to 69 feet, offering yet another unique
feature for customers.
